Chasing Cars

Chasing Cars
Snow Patrol

We’ll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don’t need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don’t quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They’re not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life

Let’s waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they’re all I can see

I don’t know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

  2. I like it… there are some more words for it… and against…
but the only thing I can say is: we always want someone to support and to share all our ideas…without thinking and hesitation… to dissolve in our life and stay its part… forever… we always need a person to trust… it’s better to ask him about it than to suppose and then fail….

I love this song. I think The message is that we are always thinking about what is going on around us and what is going on in the world and we need to just relax and forget the world. It’s so true.

  4. i dont think its exactly saying to forget completely about the world (if it is, then its a stupid song; if everybody just forgot about the world around them and only cared about themselves, the world would fall to pieces. its how all civilizations fall). I think what the song is trying to say is that we, as humans, have a need to just let go and not worry about the world for a while. and it gives us hope to have the comfort of someone next to us to help carry the load. they understand you and you understand them and you give strength to one another by just understanding, and you help eachother to persevere and get through everything…..this all came to me magically at like 11pm.

  5. The song is about letting go of the problems of this world which cause us to hinder loving completely. It’s feeling a connection with the love of your life and saying “I love you” doesn’t equal how much you actually love them. The spoken words are just not enough. It’s what we all want to feel for our loved ones but our problems seem to hold us back from letting go that completely.

  6. I really love this song, the words the music, and the voices. It not only makes me think of the man I love it also causes me to think of the God I serve and am purfect in his eyes. Only in God can I truly forget the world and all it’s cares and problems while lying with Him. Thank you God for Love and beautiful songs.

  7. Okay. A sell-out.
    And I love it.

It once reminded me of someone [yeah, an ex], but now it’s just the song.
“All that I am / All that I ever was / Is here in your perfect eyes, they’re all I can see”
To me tha’ts like.. Holding on. Not despiration at all. But, like holding on to that beautiful thing called Love.
But “Those three words /Are said too much / They’re not enough” is like, ‘Don’t just say your emotion straight-out, because that’s so not Enough’. And by that, ‘it’s not enough to just say “i love you” because, that emotion is sure so much more insence that you can’t possibley just express it so simply.
-Also, Actions are sometimes MORE powerful than Words.
    🙂

Less sure of: “I don’t know where / Confused about how as well / Just know that these things will never change for us at all”. I mean, what I can get out of it is.. like ‘I need you, and I know this emotion/moment/something will last forever’, and ever perhaps if we don’t see it’s precence anymore. Perhaps it may be able to be hidden, making us blind, so we think that emotion/moment/something is no-longer there, but. Really? It “will never change”.

That’s a bit iffy, that last one. But, yeah..

  8. I have to say I love this song both melody and lyrics. Having a son changed my wife’s and my life completely and at least once a week I wish we “just lie here and forget about the world”.

    Like we used to.
